Ziwani – highlights and looking ahead

Since the June launch, so much has been taking place across the Ziwani landscape. New partnerships are forming, communities are growing, products are in the pipeline, conversations are on the go – there’s a real sense of wind at our backs, propelling us into the plans and purposes that God has always intended for Ziwani.

We thought to take a moment and let you know about it.

Below are some of the highlights in Ziwani over the past five months along with a quick glimpse into 2022.

In the community

There’s definite growth and momentum taking place within the Ziwani communities. This month we trained six new facilitators for our X-Change groups, which will increase our communities from 14 to 20 in the new year. The feedback on the groups has been hugely positive – conversations have been rich and meaningful, even raw at times, while genuine relationships across sectors and countries are starting to form.

Looking ahead: The next exciting development on the horizon is the launch of our forum groups. These groups will be sector specific, led by a ‘sector champion’ who can skillfully engage members around issues that are relevant to their context and industry. We believe that these forums can become powerful platforms on which to explore and co-create significant redemptive business solutions for Africa’s future.

Across the ecosystem

This past month Ziwani took part in the Faith Driven Investor (FDI) conference in Nairobi, Kenya. We had the privilege of meeting some outstanding individuals from Africa and abroad – innovative, influential and Kingdom-minded people who are fundamentally shaping business and transforming society through their faith and work. We returned home, deeply inspired by what God is doing through faithful men and women in the African marketplace and hopeful to see these relationships grow over time.

Looking ahead: Recently we hosted our first quarterly ecosystem gathering for colleagues and friends across the faith and work space.  It was an  encouraging time where we committed to taking hands and helping one another grow our Kingdom impact together. We look forward to the next one in February!

From the knowledge hub

Our communities have really enjoyed the resources that we have made freely available on the knowledge hub. In addition to sourcing high quality content from the ecosystem, we have created a wide range of content that is biblically rich and specifically relevant for the African business context.

Looking ahead: In March we will launch ‘Leading in a VUCA World’ – a 10-part series that  delves into the attributes of excellent leadership in today’s world of uncertainty and change. During this time we will also be embarking on a new film series, in partnership with Faith Driven Entrepreneur (FDE), to capture some of the many stories of entrepreneurial excellence and innovation throughout Africa. Our aim is to learn from their examples as well as celebrate these uniquely African solutions that predominate our local landscape.

As 2021 thunders towards December, we look back with gratitude for all that God has done in the past few months, from people to partnerships and challenges to opportunities.

We look forward to all that 2022 will bring and count the privilege all ours to see His Kingdom come across our beautiful continent.
