In Good Company Conference: Light in the Tunnel

‘Light in the Tunnel’ is the theme of Nation Builder’s 7th Annual In Good Company (IGC) Conference. With a line-up of thought-provoking sessions, the event is set to again inspire delegates and drive them to action to reframe our nation’s narrative.

Thought leaders and innovators will bring social impact under the spotlight as they unpack ways to turn challenge into opportunity and look at partnerships that have played an invaluable role in this challenging season.

Taking place on Thursday, 16 September and Friday, 17 September 2021, from 8am-11.30am each morning, the conference will once again be a virtual and interactive experience.

Speaker lineup

This year’s speaker lineup includes:

  • Bruce Whitfield, host of The Money Show on 702 and Cape Talk who will be speaking on How chaos and uncertainty breed opportunity in South Africa.
  • Abdullah Verachia, global speaker, advisor, practice strategist and innovator talking on Gearing up for disruption; resetting the ‘now’ and gearing up for the ‘next’.
  • Olefile Masangane, programmes manager at the Heartlines Centre for Values Promotion who will be unpacking Storytelling – a simple but effective tool for change.
  • Bridgit Evans, director of the South African Breweries Foundation discussing Strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Richard Perez, founding director of the Hasso Plattner School of Design Thinking at the University of Cape Town speaking on Embracing design thinking as a mindset to drive co-creation and innovation.

Panel discussion

In conversation at IGC 2021, Keri-Leigh Paschal, executive trustee of Nation Builder will illuminate the social investment landscape and examine key trends with panelists Cathy Duff, director at Trialogue; Dr Frank Aswani, CEO at African Venture Philanthropy Alliance (AVPA); and Tracey Henry, CEO of Tshikululu Social Investments.

Conference pack

The first 300 people to register will receive a conference pack brimming with gifts and treats via courier, in the week leading up to the conference.
