Standing in the Gap for our NPOs

Africa is facing unrivalled challenges as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. NPOs play a vital role within our communities across Africa. Our governments can’t do it alone.

The Mergon Foundation has a long history of carefully selecting exceptional NPO partners that who have a track record of delivering essential services to communities in need. We have partnership bases in South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa.

Many of these NPOs are seeing their funds decrease at this time, whilst the need for their services is growing exponentially. This leaves those on the frontline, caring for thousands of vulnerable people, under increasingly crippling funding pressures. Let’s help them carry the load.

Your generous support will allow these NPOs to not just continue their valuable work, but in many cases, enable them to step up and fulfil an even bigger role than they have previously.

HOW TO

GIVE

The Gap Fund is set up as a distribution platform for small grants to financially support indispensable NPOs in the midst of our global pandemic.

Our aim is to mobilise support behind these social development organisations as they continue to be a beacon of hope and light during these difficult times.

The Gap Fund aggregates funding from various sources. Funds will be deployed through vetted NPOs, specifically to:

1. Financially underpin selected NPOs who may not be able to see themselves through this financial crisis.

2. Distribute funds to NPOs on the ground who are effectively deploying resources in emergency situations.

For larger donations, (R250 000+) it is possible to designate funding to specified NPOs. In this case, you would need to ensure that the specific NPO apply for funding from the Gap Fund and then email the details of the NPO to the allocation committee at info@gapfund.co.za.
